Job summary

Teaching Personnel is offering a two-year Salaried Future Teacher Programme in the Oxford/Bicester area. Start dates ASAP or October 2026. Salary £23,000–£26,000 per annum. You will gain SEND experience in a school, earning a salary while working toward qualified teacher status.

During Year 1 you’ll support pupils with diverse needs and receive mentoring. In Year 2 you’ll train to become an SEND teacher, plan lessons, assess progress and complete your PGCE to achieve QTS.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in any subject.
• Genuine interest in SEND and education.
• Passion for supporting children and young people.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Year 1: gain SEND experience by supporting pupils with various needs in a school setting.
• Year 1: work with teachers, teaching assistants and SEND professionals.
• Year 1: help create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Year 1: observe teachers and take part in training and development.
• Year 2: plan and deliver lessons suited to pupils’ needs and adapt resources.
• Year 2: assess pupil progress and provide feedback with a mentor.
• Year 2: complete PGCE and work towards QTS.
• Year 2: prepare for a fully qualified teaching post.
