Wadhurst Medical Group is appointing salaried GPs to cover 6-8 sessions or a 4-session maternity leave post. The role focuses on delivering high-quality primary care for registered patients, including same-day appointments and ongoing care for long-term conditions.

Applicants should be GMC-registered with MRCGP or five years’ full-time GP experience, plus a commitment to professional development and quality practice.

Salaried GP posts at Wadhurst Medical Group, one of six practices within Sussex Primary Care. The work is primary medical care for the practice's registered patients, covering same-day appointments and pre-booked care for long-term conditions, alongside helping keep the practice running smoothly. Two openings are advertised: a salaried role of 6-8 sessions and a 4-session maternity cover post, with 15-minute appointments and one home visit per day. Fit depends on MRCGP or five years as a full-time GP, GMC registration and a performers list entry.

What the job involves

• Provide primary medical services to registered patients to the highest standard, under national primary care contract regulations
• Provide same-day care for patients
• Provide pre-booked care for patients with long-term conditions
• Help maintain the smooth running of the practice

Qualifications

• Entry on the GMC General Practitioner Register under article 10 of the 2003 Order
• MRCGP accreditation, or five years as a full-time GP with a commitment to quality practice
• Evidence of continued professional development

Registration & licences

• GMC licence to practise, and current performers list entry with no suspension from the list or medical register

Experience

• Working in a multi-disciplinary, skill-mixed team
• QOF standards, clinical governance and primary care prevention and screening
• Self-audit and reflection
• Organised record keeping, time management under pressure and computer literacy

Skills & knowledge

• Sharing and collaborating across the primary health team and with multi-agency partners
• Working flexibly, adapting to change and recognising own limitations
