Job summary

Dewerstone Medical Group is seeking a salaried GP to work across Budshead Medical Practice and Oakside Surgery. The role focuses on general practice care under the GMS contract, including consultations, duty doctor coverage and home visits, with clinical record-keeping and audits.

Mentorship is available for both newly qualified and experienced GPs. Sessions are up to eight per week, with cross-site work and potential for developing a clinical special interest, plus opportunities for future

Qualifications

• Current GMC registration
• Inclusion in the GMC GP register
• Evidence of post-registration training
• Evidence of CPD and professional updating
• Commitment to developing professional practice and skill

Responsibilities

• Provide primary and continuing medical care to patients in line with the GMS contract
• Carry out consultations, duty doctor cover and home visits under the practice rota
• Assess patients considering physical, psychological and social factors, and diagnose and treat illness
• Request and interpret tests, prescribe treatment and vaccinations, monitor and adjust care
• Refer patients to specialists or other practitioners when needed
• Contribute to delivering services in line with ICB requirements
• Complete clinical administration and record patient information accurately
• Carry out clinical audits and contribute to service improvements
• Prepare reports for solicitors, insurers and other third parties
• Support the nursing team during minor illness clinics
• Promote health education with other health professionals
• Participate in practice meetings and work as a team member
