Job summary

King's Surgery in Port Talbot, United Kingdom, is seeking a salaried GP to work 4 sessions on Thursday and Friday with on-call duties on Thursday. You will join a two-partner team in a well-established practice with 6,500 patients, modern facilities in the Port Talbot Resource Centre, and robust nursing and admin support.

The role offers a friendly environment, collaborative care with cluster paramedics, OT, Health Board pharmacist and social prescriber, and no OOH or weekend commitments.

Responsibilities

• Triage and face to face appointments
• All general GP duties
• EPS - electronic prescribing
• Sharing workload with the wider MDT team
• On call duties when requested by the partnership
• Prescribing - EPS
• Checking and signing repeat prescriptions
• Handling workflow queries, blood results, prescriptions, medical reports and examinations, referral letters and correspondence by end of the working week
• Recording contemporaneous IT-based consultation notes to standards
• Prescribing within locally agreed guidelines

We are situated on Baglan Moors in Port Talbot in the purpose-built Port Talbot Resource Centre, which is conveniently located just off the M4 motorway at Baglan.

Job responsibilities

• Covering partners
• Equitable share of workload when a member of the Clinical Team is away
• Share of cover for doctors when they are on leave
• On call duties when requested by the partnership

• Checking and signing repeat prescriptions
• Dealing with workflow queries, blood results, prescriptions, medical reports and examinations, referral letters (NHS and private) and correspondence(Docman) by the end of their working week
• Taking an equitable share of the queries and workload from the wider MDT team
• Making professional autonomous decisions with either self-referred patients or those referred by another member of the MDT team
• Recording and making contemporaneous I.T. based consultation notes to agreed standards
• Prescribing within locally agreed guidelines
• The working day runs from 08.30 18.30
