Thirsk Doctors Surgery is offering a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified or experienced salaried GP to join our well-organised and friendly practice. We are expanding our GP team due to a growing list size and looking for 4-6 sessions cover per week.

About usWe currently have 8100 registered patients, have 15 minute appointments and a low home-visit rate. We dispense to approximately 1/3rd of patients.

Our medical team is currently made up of 5 Partners, 1 Salaried GP, 1 Physician Associate, 1 ANP and 4 GP Registrars. We have 3 Practice nurses, a nurse associate and 2 HCAs. We are supported by PCN Pharmacists and Care-Coordinators. We have a large administration, reception and dispensary team to offer support to GPs where required.
We offer a range of dedicated clinics including for chronic disease- diabetes, Asthma/COPD, Heart Failure clinics. We offer a full range of Minor Ops and Implant/Coil Fitting and have Ring Pessary Clinics.
We hold monthly practice meetings, partners meetings, Vulnerable Adult, Safeguarding and GSF Meetings. We have a 3 monthly audit meetings and every 4 months we hold our own in-house staff training afternoon.
We put lots of emphasis on nurturing the team and there is an active social diary with some favourite events including a practice Scavenger Hunt and going to do the Bake off experience in Leeds.

Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers.
Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
Offering preventative advice.
Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
Referring to other care providers as appropriate.
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
Collecting data for audit purposes.
Prescribing in accordance with the local or practice prescribing formulary whenever this is clinically appropriate.
Pro-rata share of on-call.
