Job responsibilities
To work as part of a team of doctors and nurses delivering general practice services to patients registered at Belgrave Medical Centre.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Undertake non-urgent and urgent consultations for registered and temporary patients.
- Conduct telephone / triage consultations.
- Participate in the online triage team.
- Undertake home visits.
- Manage on-call clinics and extended hours.
- Check and sign patient prescriptions.
- Complete daily patient test results processing.
- Produce medical reports as required.
- Administer relevant paperwork including referrals.
- Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes.
- Supervise nursing staff in treatment matters.
- Participate in relevant training and mentorship.
- Attend and contribute to clinical meetings.
- Carry out audits as needed.
- Stay updated with advances in medicine and practices, supporting staff accordingly.
- Maintain ongoing professional development (CPD) and contribute to appraisals.
- Ensure targets for QOF/QIF and Enhanced Services are met.
- Work with management to achieve quality, performance, and budget standards.
- Liaise with the Senior Partner / Practice Manager for practice efficiency.
- Share practice areas with peers and non-clinical colleagues to improve patient care.
- Coordinate with external services for referrals and advice.
- Be aware of safeguarding procedures and refer as appropriate.
- Adhere to clinical pathways, prescribing guidelines, and legislation.
- Inform colleagues of service delivery issues promptly.
- Raise concerns regarding risk, malpractice, or wrongdoing.
- Support complaints procedures and adhere to policies and guidelines.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role.

Qualifications
- MBChB or equivalent.
- Registered on the National Performers List.
- Understanding of clinical risk management and governance.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice and clinical effectiveness.
- Ability to make independent decisions and seek advice when needed.
- Effective time and workload management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills and sensitivity.
- Ability to produce clear medical notes.
- Knowledge of the NHS.
