Job description

Salaried GP 4-6 Sessions
Park Road Medical Practice, Rosyth, Fife
Permanent | Flexible working | Competitive salary

Looking for a GP role with a manageable workload, genuine flexibility and room to develop?
Park Road Medical Practice is looking for a Salaried GP to join our progressive and supportive team in Rosyth.

We are a stable practice of around 6,000 patients, with 3 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs and a long-term GP colleague, supported by a strong clinical, admin and multidisciplinary team.

Over the past two years we have invested significantly in staffing, management, training and digital systems, with a focus on sustainable general practice, high-quality patient care and a good working environment.

We are looking for the right GP to join us for 4-6 sessions per week.

What we can offer
4-8 sessions, permanent post
Flexible working days
Later starts and compressed working patterns considered
Workload structured broadly in line with the BMA safe working model
Up to 23 patient contacts per day, including a share of home visits
15-minute face-to-face and 10-minute telephone appointments
Low volume of home visits across the practice
Allocated clinical administration time
Protected breaks and lunch
Duty sessions protected from routine surgeries and capped at 12 patient contacts with rare exclusions
Monthly clinical meetings and Health Board-supported PLT
Competitive salary, with scope to recognise experience and additional responsibilities
BMA model salaried GP contract
NHS Pension Scheme
Contribution towards medical indemnity
Skilled Worker visa sponsorship available for suitable candidates

We aim to structure the working day so that workload remains manageable and work can be completed within normal working hours.

Excellent multidisciplinary support

Our GPs are supported by:
Pharmacotherapy team managing the bulk of EDT and medication changes, alongside acute prescriptions and polypharmacy reviews
Excellent CTAC and phlebotomy services
First-contact physiotherapy
Mental health nursing support
Dermatology nurse sessions
Practice Nurse and HCA
Dedicated management and admin support

We have also recently strengthened the team with new management, a Clinical Services Lead and Quality Improvement support.

Training and development

We are a ScotGEM teaching practice and an approved GP Specialty Training practice, with our first GP trainees expected shortly.

We are keen to support GPs who wish to develop special interests, including:
Teaching and medical education
Women's health
Minor surgery
Enhanced services
Quality improvement
Digital innovation

We are also happy to explore other portfolio interests that complement the practice.
For the right candidate, there may be opportunities to develop an enhanced role, such as Clinical Lead.
Newly qualified GPs and those approaching completion of training are very welcome to apply.

A practice investing in its future

Recent investment has included increased GP staffing, additional pharmacist support, new leadership and quality improvement roles, improved telephone and website systems, updated IT equipment and bespoke staff training.
We have completed our transition to Vision and continue to pilot digital tools that can improve patient access and reduce unnecessary workload.
Our partnership is approachable, progressive, flexible and hands-on, and we welcome ideas from across the team.
And yes, we have a great coffee machine too!

Location

Park Road Medical Practice is based in Rosyth, close to the Forth crossings, with excellent links to Edinburgh, Dunfermline, Falkirk and Stirling.
There are direct rail links to Edinburgh, making the practice accessible for those living elsewhere in the Central Belt.
The practice also has a dedicated car park, with additional on-street parking nearby.

Who are we looking for?
We would like to hear from GPs who value:
Good patient care. A supportive team. Sensible workload. Flexibility. And a practice that wants to keep moving forward.
Whether you are looking for your first permanent post, a better work-life balance or an opportunity to develop a specialist interest, we would be very happy to have an informal conversation.

Informal enquiries and visits are very welcome.
