Main duties of the job

Operating from our main site in Paignton and branch in Torquay, caring for over 26,000 patients within a supportive team environment. Our team includes GPs, ANPs, Pharmacists, Paramedics, Pharmacy Technicians, Social Prescribers, nurses, receptionists, and admin staff. We actively participate in community health initiatives and support trainee and newly qualified GPs. We use Emis Web for a hybrid system of acute and pre-booked appointments.

Job Responsibilities

1. Manage a diverse caseload, providing high standards of care for all patients.
2. Conduct consultations via surgery, phone, and home visits.
3. Make autonomous clinical decisions and assess undifferentiated health problems.
4. Screen for disease risk factors and early illness signs.
5. Record consultation notes accurately and timely.
6. Gather data for audits.
7. Issue prescriptions following formulary protocols.
8. Adhere to practice policies and guidelines.

Person Specification

Qualifications (Essential)

• Qualified GP
• MRCGP
• Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
• Certificate of Completion of Training (GPC)

Experience (Essential)

• Primary care experience
• CPD and clinical audit experience
• Minimum two years as a salaried GP
• Understanding of GMS contract

Desirable

• Medicines management
• CCG initiatives experience

Eligibility (Essential)

• Full GMC Registration
• National Performers List registration
• Appropriate indemnity (MPS/MDU)
• Eligibility to practice independently in the UK
