Job summary

Borth Surgery in Wales is seeking a Salaried GP to provide patient-centered General Medical Services within a GP-led multidisciplinary team. The role includes routine consultations, management of acute and chronic conditions, and adherence to NHS GMS standards.

You will contribute to teaching and supervision of learners, participate in audits and quality improvement, and support service delivery in a community-focused practice.

Qualifications

  • Must hold CCT in General Practice and GMC registration.
  • Registered on All Wales Medical Performers List.
  • Authorisation to work in the UK; Sponsor status under Skilled Worker route.

Responsibilities

  • Provide General Medical Services in line with the GMS contract.
  • Undertake face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations.

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our friendly, community-focused practice. The role involves delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, including routine consultations, management of acute and chronic conditions, and preventative healthcare. You will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team and contribute to the continued development of practice services.   • Provide General Medical Services in accordance with the GMS contract
  • Undertake surgery consultations, telephone and online consultations
  • Diagnose and manage patients presenting with acute and chronic conditions
  • Prescribe safely and appropriately in line with practice and national guidelines
  • Process and action laboratory results, clinical correspondence, and referrals
  • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records
  • Participate in practice meetings, clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement activities
  • Work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team
  • Contribute to the training and supervision of medical and allied health professionals where appropriate, Our modern premises offer excellent facilities, including two large rear car parks with designated disabled spaces, ensuring easy access for patients and staff. The practice serves a wide and diverse area, from Penparcau in the south to Furnace in the north, and across to Ponterwyd in the east.

We have a friendly and experienced multidisciplinary team comprising a GP Partner, a Salaried GP, two Practice Nurses, a Healthcare Assistant, and a District Nursing team, supported by a proactive Practice Manager and skilled administrative staff. We pride ourselves on a supportive and collaborative working environment. In addition to providing a full range of general practice services, we run specialist clinics in Respiratory Care, Diabetes, and Cardiovascular Disease. We are also an established training practice, supporting a range of learners, and host a Coding Hub delivering services to practices across Wales.

The post-holder will provide high-quality, patient-centred General Medical Services in accordance with the GMS contract. The role includes the management of acute and chronic conditions, preventative care, and health promotion, while working as part of a multidisciplinary primary care team to deliver safe and effective services to the practice population.

Main Duties of the Post
  • Provide General Medical Services in line with the GMS contract
  • Undertake face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations
  • Diagnose and manage patients presenting with acute and chronic conditions
  • Prescribe safely and appropriately in accordance with local and national guidelines
  • Process and action laboratory results, correspondence, and referrals
  • Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records
  • Participate in practice meetings, audits, clinical governance, and quality improvement activities
  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to support service delivery
  • Contribute to the teaching, training, and supervision of GP registrars, students, and other learners where appropriate
Professional Responsibilities
  • Maintain full registration with the General Medical Council, GMC, and inclusion on the GP Performers List
  • Hold appropriate professional indemnity cover, in line with NHS Wales requirements
  • Work in accordance with the principles of Good Medical PracticeParticipate in annual appraisal and revalidation
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, infection control, and health and safety procedures
Working Relationships

The post-holder will work closely with GP Partners, salaried GPs, nursing staff, allied health professionals, and administrative teams to support the delivery of high-quality patient care.

The post-holder must maintain strict confidentiality in line with GDPR and NHS Wales policies.
