Job summary

Meddygfa Glan Cynon Surgery in Mountain Ash, Wales, is seeking a Salaried General Practitioner to provide patient-centred primary medical services within a multidisciplinary team. The post involves routine and urgent GP consultations, house calls, safe prescribing, and referrals to secondary care, with governance and educational responsibilities to support continuous improvement.

You will work 4-6 sessions per week, aligned to BMA recommendations, with flexible arrangements and support from GP

Qualifications

• Fully qualified General Practitioner.
• GMC registered with licence to practise.
• Evidence of ongoing CPD.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Included on NHS Wales Performers List or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Undertake routine and urgent GP consultations, including house calls.
• Prescribe safely and in line with guidance.
• Make referrals to secondary care and community services as appropriate.
• Review pathology, radiology and investigation results.
• Complete referrals, reports and associated clinical administration.
• Participate in governance, quality improvement and audits.
• Support teaching and training of medical students and postgraduate GP trainees.
