Job summary

AJ Chambers is recruiting a hands-on Bookkeeper to join a well-established construction business in Romford. The role covers day-to-day bookkeeping, CIS returns, VAT, and general office administration, with the successful candidate taking ownership of financial tasks.

You should have strong Sage experience, solid CIS and VAT knowledge, be organised and reliable, able to work independently in a small team, and comfortable speaking on the phone; starting ASAP with start date around 1st Oct.

Qualifications

• Strong Sage experience and accurate bookkeeping skills.
• Good knowledge of CIS and VAT requirements.
• Organised, reliable and able to manage own workload.
• Confident speaking with people over the telephone and in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day bookkeeping using Sage
• Preparing and submitting CIS returns
• Assisting with VAT returns
• Answering the office telephone and dealing with enquiries
• Managing emails and general office administration
• Supporting with the day-to-day running of the business
• Taking on a variety of additional tasks where required
