Organon is hiring a Safety, Health & Environmental Specialist to work as part of an existing SHE Team based at our world class manufacturing site in Cramlington, Northumberland.

In this role, you will be supporting the delivery of our Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) improvement targets as well as maintaining the site current EHS management system. The role is crucial for providing daily SHE support and guidance to various site functions, including manufacturing, packaging, warehousing, quality control laboratories, facility management, and engineering. Additionally, it involves participation in site projects.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update of SHE registers and SHE procedures in line with company and legislative requirements.
  • Incident and accident investigation and development of suitable CAPAs in conjunction with site stakeholders.
  • Support operational risk assessments of various types as required and maintain oversight of the risk assessment framework.
  • Development and monitoring of key EHS metrics to drive the organisations safety continual improvement processes.
  • Completion of SHE inspections, eg fire equipment, PPE, RPE as required.
  • Development of cross-functional working to evaluate EHS aspects of operations and practices, possible alternatives and solutions to identified issue with focus on continuous improvement.
  • Participation on project teams to ensure appropriate level of EHS support during design/planning/installation/ construction as part of management of change process.
  • Co-ordination of activities in response to site emergency alarms as part of the site emergency response plan. Perform role of Emergency Controller or Emergency Management Team EHS representative.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in EHS management (NEBOSH General Certificate level or equivalent).
  • Degree in Science related subject or equivalent experience.
  • Membership of a Professional Institute eg IOSH, IEMA, IRM.
  • Relevant technical and operational knowledge. (Pharma sector experience preferred).
  • Strong team working approach and well-developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communicator both written and verbal.
