Job summary

Assured Safety Recruitment is supporting a Watford-based business to recruit a Safety, Health & Environment Manager. You will lead the HSE strategy, sustain ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, and embed a proactive safety culture across the site.

Working with senior leaders, you’ll deliver practical guidance, engaging training and hands-on support, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement throughout operations at all levels.

Qualifications

• Experience within manufacturing, engineering, logistics or a similar operational environment.
• Hands-on, approachable style with excellent people skills.
• Ability to engage colleagues at all levels, from shop floor to senior management.
• Proactive mindset and passion for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site's Health, Safety and Environmental strategy and day‑to‑day activities.
• Maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Embed a positive safety culture with managers and employees.
• Provide practical HSE advice and guidance across the business.
• Deliver engaging training, coaching and support to colleagues at all levels.
• Monitor compliance with legislation and best practice (PUWER, LOTO, etc.).
• Lead audits, inspections, investigations and improvement initiatives.
• Partner with Senior Leadership Team to achieve HSE objectives and drive improvement.

• NEBOSH Certificate qualification.
