Job summary

Dunton Environmental Ltd. is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to provide strategic leadership across manufacturing and site operations. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will own the health, safety and environmental agenda and champion best practice.

This role demands strong leadership, robust knowledge of UK HSE legislation, and the ability to analyze data, develop programmes and drive continuous improvement. NEBOSH Diploma or Certificate preferred; IOSH membership desirable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a Health & Safety function within manufacturing, construction or related environments.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practice.
• Experience developing and implementing safety improvement programmes.

We are seeking an ambitious and influential Health & Safety Manager to provide strategic leadership across our growing business. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of our health, safety and environmental agenda, ensuring compliance, driving continuous improvement and championing best practice across manufacturing and site operations.

What You'll Be Responsible For

As our Health & Safety Manager, you will:

• Lead and develop the company's health, safety and environmental strategy.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, standards and company policies.
• Drive a proactive safety culture that engages employees, managers and leaders across the business.
• Analyse performance data, identify trends and implement improvement initiatives that deliver measurable results.
• Oversee risk management activities, including risk assessments, safe systems of work and emergency planning.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action programmes.
• Conduct audits and site inspections, ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the business.
• Provide expert advice and coaching to managers and operational teams.
• Support and maintain management systems including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
• Develop training and competency programmes that strengthen organisational capability and compliance.

About You

We're looking for a confident and commercially minded Health & Safety leader who can influence stakeholders, challenge when necessary and build strong working relationships across the organisation.

You will have:

• Proven experience leading a Health & Safety function within manufacturing, construction, engineering or a related environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practice.
• Experience developing and implementing successful safety improvement programmes.
• The ability to analyse data and translate findings into meaningful action plans.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to operate at both strategic and operational levels.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma, NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent occupational health and safety qualification.
• IOSH Membership or equivalent professional accreditation is desirable.
