Job summary

Global Manufacturing Company seeks a Safety, Health and Environment Manager to lead SHE across a large Halifax site. You will sit on the senior leadership team, empowering the workforce to own SHE and driving proactive, practical safety management.

Ideal candidates bring NEBOSH qualifications, ISO 45001/14001 experience and a track record coaching teams through change in fast-paced manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• A SHE Professional from an automated manufacturing background with FMCG or related experience.
• NEBOSH Certificate with management experience; NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Proven ability to drive cultural and behavioural change.
• Change management experience; LEAN manufacturing is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Be the subject matter expert on SHE, sitting on the senior leadership team.
• Shape and drive safety on a large complex Halifax manufacturing site.
• Provide practical advice and support to internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop, coach and mentor two junior SHE Advisors.
• Encourage collaboration and ownership of SHE across departments.

Looking to hire an inspiring and proven SHE Leader with prior success in high risk and fast paced production environments, to manage a large complex manufacturing site in Halifax.

You will be the subject matter expert, sitting on the senior leadership team and help shape the future of safety on site. Giving the workforce confidence to take ownership and accountability for SHE. Offering practical advice and supporting internal and external stakeholders and the site leaders on proactive management of Health, Safety, and Environment.

This would suit someone who likes to be friendly, visible on site, a person who can build trusted relationships and encourage collaboration across departments. Who can offer a people centric and human approach to SHE and who also able to strategically advance site safety. This company welcomes diversity of thought and new ways of working to ensure they evolve SHE practices and be future fit. You will have the opportunity to develop, coach, and mentor two junior SHE Advisors who report into this position.

Ideal Experience, Training and Qualifications

• A SHE Professional from an automated manufacturing background, ideally with prior food, confectionary, distillery, brewing, beverage, paper, packaging, dairy or baked goods manufacturing experience
• NEBOSH Certificate combined with FMCG and management experience but ideally NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001
• Proven to support and maturing cultural and behavioural change
• Change management experience
• LEAN manufacturing experience – Desirable
