Culina Logistics provides integrated supply chain services and expertise for food & snack products that require strict refrigerated temperatures.

We are seeking a Safety, Facilities and Compliance Advisor in Bristol on a 6 month fixed-term contract to support the Safety, Facilities and Compliance Manager in maintaining ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001, and ensuring health, safety and quality compliance across the site.

Qualifications

  • Experience implementing ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Proven track record in health and safety compliance and audits.
  • Knowledge of current H&S legislation and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Implement improvement actions related to MAH (Major Accident Hazard).
  • Maintain risk assessment processes for MAH scenarios.
  • Manage contractor records and site maintenance activities.
  • Oversee waste disposal, site hygiene, and competence management.
  • Ensure safe use of plant and machinery and legal compliance.
  • Provide guidance on statutory requirements and company standards.
  • Undertake SHEQ risk assessments and assist with ISO implementations.
  • Coordinate H&S training and inductions for staff and agency workers.
  • Participate in monthly H&S meetings and conduct internal audits.

Job description

Due to continued growth an exciting opportunity is now available for a Safety, Facilities and Compliance Advisor to join our team in Bristol on a 6 month fixed-term contract. Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-17:00pm As a Safety, Facilities and Compliance Advisor you will work closely Safety, Facilities and Compliance Advisor with our Safety, Facilities and Compliance Manager to ensure the company maintains all required certifications (ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 & ISO 14001) and is legally compliant in all its health, safety and quality activities. Key Duties of a Safety, Facilities and Compliance Advisor:

  • Implementing improvement actions raised in connection with MAH (Major Accident Hazard)
  • Ensuring a suitable risk assessment process to establish MAH scenarios is implemented
  • Keeping control and records for appointed contractors and planned site maintenance
  • Managing waste disposal and site hygiene Ensuring that an effective competence management system is maintained
  • Understanding and maintaining all aspects of a Health and Safety Management System
  • Ensuring plant and machinery are safe to use and legally compliant
  • Provide guidance and advice to the region on compliance with all statutory requirements and company standards
  • Undertake risk assessments relating to SHEQ as required
  • Assist the business with implementation of the ISO9001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • To encourage employee involvement in Health, Safety and Environmental issues.
  • To support managers in Health and Safety Risk Assessments / COSHH Assessments to ensure that legislative standards are met or exceeded
  • To participate in Health, Safety and Environmental training for established staff and provide induction training for all new entrants including agency staff.
  • Understanding and advising on current H&S legislation, guidance and best practise
  • Health and Safety Auditing (Annual Health and Safety Audit)
  • British Retail Consortium (BRC) internal auditing
  • EMS 14001 auditing
  • Assessing risk
  • Maintaining Safe Systems of Work Assessor
  • Playing an active role in monthly Health and Safety meetings
  • Training trainers on Evacuation procedure
  • Maintaining role of Fire Marshal
  • Maintaining role of Racking Inspector
  • Assessing Control of Systems Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
  • Being a Super User for EOA and Fleet Focus (full training will be provided)
  • Managing Controlled documents
  • Devising and delivering safety briefs including safety conversations
  • Controlling of permits to work for contractors on site
  • Conducting internal audits
