Job summary

Tatton Recruitment is assisting an engineering client in the Southwest to appoint a Safety Engineer. This permanent, site-based role will lead a small, experienced team and focus on safety analysis, safety case development, design reviews and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates will have nuclear industry experience, familiarity with PRA, HAZOP and FMEA, and exposure to dock environment projects. The position offers a competitive salary, training, and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in the nuclear industry, with exposure to reactor design, operations and safety systems.
• Knowledge of nuclear safety principles, standards and regulations, including PRA, HAZOP and FMEA.
• Exposure to design and construction phases, especially in a dock environment, is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Safety Analysis and develop safety cases.
• Lead Design Review activities and verify safety claims.
• Ensure Regulatory Compliance across projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement safety improvements.

We're looking for people who can show:

• Relevant experience in the nuclear industry, ideally with exposure to reactor design, operations, and safety systems.
• Knowledge of nuclear safety principles, standards, and regulations, including probabilistic risk assessment (PRA), hazard analysis techniques (HAZOP, FMEA)
• Exposure to the design and construction phases, especially in a dock environment, will be an added advantage.
