Job summary

SSÉ/SSE Distribution is seeking a Safety and Compliance Engineer to join the Embedded Generation Team across eight power stations in Scotland. The role focuses on driving a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with PPC and ISO 14001, and engaging with regulators and stakeholders.

You'll review and align procedures with corporate standards, support incident investigations, and contribute to process safety Bowtie and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Safety or Environmental Management or equivalent industry experience.
• Sound understanding of current UK health and safety legislation and its application within a networks business.

Responsibilities

• Drive a strong safety culture across the Embedded Generation team and across sites.
• Support regulatory reporting for environmental conditions within PPC permits and provide safety input to future projects.
• Review existing procedures to align with corporate standards and complete audits for compliance.
• Support incident investigations and ensure learnings are embedded across the business.
• Develop and review process safety bowties and risk assessments to demonstrate ALARP.
