Job summary

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks is seeking an experienced Safety and Compliance Engineer to join the Embedded Generation Team. You will help drive a positive safety culture and ensure compliance for eight power stations located across the Scottish Islands.

Base location prefers Perth, Glasgow, Inverness, Aberdeen or other Scottish depots with 50% travel to sites and a valid driving license. This permanent full-time role supports governance under PPC and ISO 14001, with a range of

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Safety or Environmental Management or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation and regulatory reporting.
• Experience in safety-critical asset management within regulated infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Drive a strong safety culture across Embedded Generation to ensure consistency.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting for PPC permits and environmental conditions.
• Review procedures to align with corporate safety standards and perform audits.
• Support incident investigations and share learnings across the business.
• Develop Bowtie and risk assessments to manage hazards and ALARP controls.
