Amentum is seeking Safety Case Engineers to develop safety justification for nuclear infrastructure within the Defence & Security sector, working in a hybrid model with some client-site visits. Ideal candidates have extensive experience in safety cases for high-hazard industries and nuclear defence projects, and will contribute to multi-disciplinary design and safety reviews.

The role emphasizes technical quality, client communication, and strengthening safety culture across complex facilities

Qualifications

• Lead the development of the appropriate and proportionate safety case documentation for nuclear/defence facilities.
• Deliver robust safety arguments for high hazard industries with a focus on quality and regulatory alignment.
• Communicate findings effectively with clients and design teams to support design reviews and safety assessments.

About the opportunity:

The Defence Industry Solutions Sector is a growing sector and to meet this we are looking to recruit for a Safety Case Engineers with extensive experience in the development of safety justification for nuclear infrastructure to join our Defence & Security business. Candidates with similar safety case experience within high hazard industries and, or significant nuclear defence industry experience will be considered, where this compliments the existing team.

These roles will ideally be based close to our Theale, Bristol, Glasgow office in a hybrid working role, and there will be a need for periodic visits to client sites as projects require.

The Defence & Security business provides an exciting mixture of consultancy, design and engineering support, along with delivery of challenging Defence projects, to major clients in the UK at a variety of Sites across the nuclear and defence industries, including HMNB Clyde, HMNB Devonport, BAES Barrow and AWE Aldermaston. Overseas, we are delivering similarly interesting and exciting projects across the globe including projects for clients in the Middle East and Australia. Taking a lead role in the development of the appropriate and proportionate safety case including Nuclear, Product, Construction, Process and HSE.

Taking a lead role in the development of the appropriate and proportionate safety justification documentation case which will predominantly be including Nuclear but may also include, Product, Construction, Process and HSE.

Ensuring technical quality and excellence of your work
