Job Title: Safety Case Engineer

At Babcock, we're working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Safety Case Engineer (Propulsion) at our Faslane, Helensburgh site and play your part in this mission.

The Role

As a Safety Case Engineer, you will evaluate risks associated with nuclear operations within HMNB Clyde and demonstrate that these risks are ALARP through safety justifications. Your responsibilities include producing and maintaining safety documentation for nuclear activities, supporting site-wide safety reviews, and providing independent technical assessments.

Under guidance from senior engineers, you will:

1. Produce annual Periodic Safety Review reports and support Clyde Due Process.
2. Maintain Facility/Utility Safety Cases.
3. Create safety justifications for emergent tasks.
4. Represent DSJG at NSAG/DNSAG meetings (~2 per week).
5. Serve as a single point of contact for a Facility/Utility.

This is a full-time role (36 hours/week) with hybrid working arrangements based in Faslane.

Essential Experience

• Knowledge of Safety Cases, facility infrastructure, and operations.
• Experience with engineering processes.
• Knowledge of NRP/Submarine systems (beneficial).

Qualifications

• HNC in Engineering or equivalent.
• Safety Case Engineers Course.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must obtain and maintain SC security clearance. Eligibility may be affected by nationality, citizenship, or residency.
