Job summary

Goldsmiths, University of London is seeking a Campus Safety and Security Team Leader to support the Safety and Security Operations Manager in keeping the campus safe, secure and welcoming for students, staff and visitors. • With a proactive and visible approach to campus safety, you will need to demonstrate the ability to coordinate daily security operations, oversee incident response, and support the effective delivery of safety and security services across a diverse university environment.
• You will be confident in leading teams, allocating resources, monitoring performance, and providing guidance and support to Security Control Officers and Campus Safety, Security, and Front of House staff.
• A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, the candidate builds positive relationships with students, colleagues, contractors, and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• The Campus Safety and Security Team Leader role provides support to the Safety and Security Operations Manager to ensure Campus remains a safe, secure and welcoming environment for all students, staff and visitors.
• The post holder is responsible for supervising a team of Campus Security Control Team Officers and Campus Safety, Security, and Front of House staff, daily operations, overseeing incident response, and supporting with compliance with university policies, procedures and legal obligations.

Job description

The Security Department forms part of the Estates & Facilities Directorate and is responsible for delivering a professional, responsive and customer-focused safety and security service across the Goldsmiths estate. Operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the team works in partnership with students, staff, contractors and external agencies to maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for the University community. The department provides a wide range of services, including campus patrols, incident response, emergency management, control room operations, access control, CCTV and alarm monitoring, event support, safeguarding and the coordination of emergency responses. Supporting Goldsmiths' commitment to student well being, inclusion and community engagement, the Security Team plays a vital role in protecting people, property and assets while contributing to a positive campus experience., The Campus Safety and Security Team Leader role provides support to the Safety and Security Operations Manager to ensure Campus remains a safe, secure and welcoming environment for all students, staff and visitors.
