Sir Harry Smith Community College is seeking a Safeguarding Officer to join the safeguarding and pastoral team, promoting safety, welfare and wellbeing of students. This term-time role covers 32.5 hours weekly, 9am–4pm, Monday to Friday with a half-hour lunch.

You will monitor safeguarding concerns, support colleagues and make referrals where required, working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and external agencies to ensure timely support for pupils and families.

Responsabilidades

• Be first point of contact for child protection concerns for the Key Stage, liaising with the Designated Officer where necessary.
• Work with external agencies, e.g. through referrals and liaising with Social Services regarding child protection matters, organizing and attending PEP, TAC and core groups meetings.
• Attend relevant Child Protection meetings and feed back regarding students' educational needs.
• Establish and maintain positive links between the school and parents/carers, supporting them to access outside support.
• Work with Heads of Year to implement strategies to improve student behaviour, attendance and adherence to school policies.
• Supervise students in the Heads of Year Hub and Removal Room and participate in the Duty Team.
• Analyse information and report to the pastoral team, SLT, Deputy Principal and Governing Body.
• Support the wider Pastoral Team to ensure students are safe from harm at school and home.
