Sir Harry Smith Community College is seeking a Safeguarding Officer to join its safeguarding and pastoral team during term time. The role supports the Designated Safeguarding Lead in promoting student safety and wellbeing, handling referrals, and coordinating with external agencies.

The successful candidate will have strong safeguarding knowledge, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a genuine commitment to helping pupils thrive both inside and outside school.

• Experience in safeguarding and child protection.

• Ability to work with external agencies and professionals.

Mansioni

• Be first point of contact for child protection concerns.
• Work with external agencies and Social Services; organise and attend meetings.
• Liaise with parents/carers to support pupils and coordinate outside support.
• Collaborate with Heads of Year to implement safeguarding strategies.
• Support appropriate interventions to improve student behaviour and attendance.
• Be part of the safeguarding and pastoral teams and duty rotas.
• Analyse information and report to pastoral teams and senior leaders.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe school environment for all pupils.
