Job summary

South Craven School is seeking a Safeguarding Support Manager (Non-Teaching) to join the pastoral team and oversee safeguarding operations. You will work with the Designated Safeguarding Lead, liaise with external agencies, support vulnerable students and maintain safeguarding records.

The role requires extensive safeguarding experience, confidentiality, and a commitment to regular CPD within a collaborative team environment. The position is permanent and term-time with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in child protection, social care, youth work or pastoral school environment.
• Deep knowledge of safeguarding frameworks (Keeping Children Safe in Education, local guidance).
• Excellent communication, active listening and conflict-resolution skills.
• High level of emotional resilience, professionalism and strict confidentiality.
• Team player with willingness to engage in regular CPD.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily safeguarding operations alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
• Liaise with external agencies as required.
• Support vulnerable students and maintain robust safeguarding records.
• Contribute to a large safeguarding team and attend CPD as needed.
