Job summary

West Sussex County Council is seeking a Social Worker for the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) in Horsham. You will assess safeguarding concerns, review thresholds, and provide clear recommendations while maintaining child focus in a fast-paced environment.

Role includes supporting strategy meetings, triaging SIGNs with MASH Officers, and collaborating with police, health and housing partners. Minimum 5 CPD days per year and extensive professional development are offered.

Qualifications

• Ability to analyse and interpret complex information and data.
• Formulate intervention plans and service provision.
• Assess needs and negotiate outcomes.
• Manage risk within a caseload of complex cases.
• Engage with parents, carers, young people and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Handle high-volume short-term safeguarding enquiries.
• Review threshold and provide analytic recommendations.
• Support strategy meetings and work with police on significant harm.
• Triage police reports (SIGNs) with MASH Officers.
• Build positive professional relationships and maintain child focus.
