Job Overview

We have a great opportunity for a dynamic Office Manager with HR experience to join our school to provide strategic leadership and management of the main office and HR administration to drive professional standards within the administrative support of the school.

The successful candidate will manage and support the administrative staff and the wider teaching and support staff in order to provide effective administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the school. We are a small, yet expanding school, with around 560 students in year groups 7-11. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following characteristics:

  • Experienced in working in an administrative setting in school, or experience that could be easily translated and applied into a school setting.
  • An excellent record of working in a pressurised field

  • Ability to learn new programmes at pace and share learning with appropriate members of staff.
  • Ability to plan and implement systems to maximise use
  • Advanced PC skills, especially Excel (spreadsheets and databases)
  • Previous office experience
  • Ability to organise and prioritise your own workload whilst working alone or as part of a team
  • Ability to oversee the recruiting process; posting job adverts and organising interviews.
  • Ability to liaise with the school’s HR professional, maintain confidentiality and ensure accurate record keeping.
  • Highly developed organisational skills
  • An eye for detail.
  • A good understanding and knowledge of office and HR systems and protocols would be an advantage, although full training is offered to all successful candidates.
  • A dynamic personality including a capacity, drive, passion and energy to succeed
  • High personal standards.
  • Excellent health and attendance record.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A general desire to help and support children from all backgrounds.

The Ideal Candidate Will Also Have

The Successful Candidate Will Be Required To
  • Have knowledge of SEND legislation (e.g. Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Code of Practice).
  • Maintain SEND records and support the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes.
  • Liaise effectively with SENCOs, parents, external agencies and local authorities.
  • Manage reviews, provision maps, and documentation accurately.
  • Work with an understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements.
  • Use strategies which successfully support the mental health and wellbeing of students.
  • Develop strategies to deliver effective short-term one-to-one support to students who require a quick response to help them overcome barriers to their learning.
  • You will be expected to participate in ongoing professional development.

Whilst this role is predominantly term time there is a requirement for the successful candidate to work an additional 10 days per year during holiday times, in agreement with the Head of School.
