Job summary

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Safeguarding Practitioner to join the Corporate Safeguarding Team. The post-holder will help ensure statutory duties are met and staff understand safeguarding responsibilities for children, young people and adults at risk.

The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) and involves supporting complex safeguarding cases, liaising with external agencies, and contributing to policy development, audit, and training in line with the 6 Cs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safeguarding children and adults at risk with emphasis on Domestic Abuse and Child Exploitation.
• Ability to interpret current safeguarding research for clinical practice with senior safeguarding input.
• Commitment to high standards of practice in safeguarding across all services.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Safeguarding and Specialist Practitioners in statutory roles.
• Promote quality and effectiveness of safeguarding responses to children and adults at risk.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures and audits in partnership with others.
• Engage with external agencies on safeguarding issues and advocate improvements.
• Apply up-to-date safeguarding knowledge to practice in consultation with the team.
• Promote high standards of safety and welfare in all service areas.
