Job summary

Ormiston Forge Academy is seeking a safeguarding support worker to join the safeguarding and pastoral team, supporting vulnerable students and their families and helping to remove barriers to learning so pupils feel safe, heard and supported.

Working with the DSL/DDSL, pastoral staff, attendance and behaviour teams, you will manage a caseload and play a key role in protecting the welfare of children and young people, including 1:1 wellbeing work and safeguarding online safety.

Qualifications

• GCSE maths and English at A-C level or 4+ in GCSEs.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Family Support, Social Work, Childcare, Play Work or Children’s Health.
• Experience in safeguarding or pastoral roles is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support vulnerable students and their families to remove barriers to learning.
• Provide wellbeing support and 1:1 sessions with students.
• Attend multi‑agency meetings and work with external services.
• Maintain accurate records with discretion and confidentiality.
• Collaborate with DSL/DDSL and pastoral teams to protect welfare.
