Job summary

Ormiston Forge Academy is seeking a compassionate Safeguarding Support Worker to join our safeguarding and pastoral team. You will support vulnerable students and families, helping to remove barriers to learning and ensuring pupils feel safe, heard and supported.

Working with the DSL/DDSL, attendance and behaviour teams, and external agencies, you will manage a caseload of students and play a key role in protecting and promoting welfare and resilience in young people.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths & English at grade C/4 or above.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant family support/childcare/health area, or willingness to obtain.
• First Aid qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support vulnerable students and families with safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
• Work with the DSL/DDSL and pastoral, attendance and behaviour teams.
• Manage a caseload of students and participate in multi‑agency meetings.
• Provide 1:1 wellbeing sessions and guidance on online safety and consent.
• Maintain accurate records with discretion and professionalism.
