Job summary

Lift Bexleyheath is seeking a Safeguarding Officer to safeguard and support students. You will report to the Designated Safeguarding Lead, manage live concerns, and coordinate with external agencies while ensuring accurate record-keeping.

Ideal candidates will have experience with safeguarding, strong knowledge of KCSIE, and the ability to advise staff on safeguarding strategies with a confidential approach. This role focuses on protecting welfare and promoting equality across the academy.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and external agencies to make referrals.
• Strong knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and restorative practices.
• Ability to advise staff on safeguarding strategies with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Safeguarding & pastoral support: implement procedures, respond to concerns, design interventions.
• Record management: maintain safeguarding records and monitor staff training.
• Stakeholder collaboration: work with parents, social care, police, and health services; attend case meetings.
• Staff training & guidance: ensure staff understand safeguarding policies and raise concerns.
