Job summary

Outwood Academy City Fields in Wakefield is seeking a Safeguarding Officer (Temporary - Maternity Leave) to join our safeguarding team from 01/11/2026. You will coordinate safeguarding referrals, manage documentation and initiate multi-agency interventions to protect vulnerable students.

The role requires significant expertise in child protection, strong collaboration with external agencies, and a proactive approach to ensuring the health and welfare of every pupil.

Role: Safeguarding Officer (Temporary - Maternity Leave)

Academy: Outwood Academy City Fields

Start Date: 01/11/2026

Salary (Actual Salary): £26,113 to £26,981

Working Pattern: 37 Hours Per Week, Term Time Plus Five Days

Do you have significant expertise in child protection and a dedication to ensuring the health and welfare of young people? As a Safeguarding Officer, you will be pivotal in coordinating safeguarding referrals, managing documentation, and initiating multi-agency interventions to protect vulnerable students and their families. This strategic and hands-on role requires working directly with external agencies and leading the academy’s response to complex child protection issues.
