Job summary

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Safeguarding Nurse/Practitioner for a 9-month fixed-term contract or secondment to support safeguarding across wards and departments. The post offers structured supervision and mentorship from the Named Nurse for Safeguarding, with development across all aspects of safeguarding practice.

Qualifications

• Must be an existing ROH registered nurse or HCPC-registered AHP with recent clinical experience.
• Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to professionally challenge practice when required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve standards of care related to safeguarding across wards and departments.
• Provide safeguarding advice and guidance to frontline staff.
• Contribute to safeguarding governance, audits and quality improvement.
• Assist with planning and delivery of mandatory safeguarding training.
• Develop and apply knowledge of safeguarding legislation and guidance (Children Act 2004, Working Together 2023, MCA 2005, DoLS, Domestic Abuse Act 2021, Care Act 2014).
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to minimise risk and promote safety for vulnerable adults, children and families.
