Job summary

Premier Education Ltd is recruiting an experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead for a secondary school in Manchester. The role is full-time and temporary, starting immediately and running until October half-term.

You will take operational responsibility for safeguarding and work closely with the headteacher, senior leaders, pastoral staff and external agencies. The successful candidate will provide a visible point of contact for pupils, staff and families, respond to safeguarding concerns

Qualifications

• Substantial safeguarding or child protection experience.
• Experience working in a school, education, or related setting.
• Knowledge of current safeguarding guidance and legislation.
• Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Act as the school's lead professional for safeguarding and child protection.
• Receive, assess and respond to safeguarding concerns and referrals.
• Maintain accurate, confidential safeguarding records and manage caseloads.
• Liaise with Local Authority, police, social care and other agencies as needed.
• Deliver safeguarding updates and provide staff guidance on procedures.
