Job summary

Worcester Cathedral invites an experienced safeguarding professional to join the Safeguarding Directorate. You will lead safeguarding support for the Cathedral and the wider Diocese of Worcester, providing proactive guidance to protect children and vulnerable adults, and training colleagues across the organisation.

You will respond sensitively to abuse survivors, work with senior leaders on safeguarding culture, and promote strong policies in a supportive, values-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Substantial safeguarding experience in a relevant profession.
• Ability to provide confident advice in line with safeguarding legislation and policy.
• Excellent communicator who inspires trust and works with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Strong team player with integrity and resilience.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead role in safeguarding work for Worcester Cathedral and the Diocese, providing high-quality preventative and proactive safeguarding support.
• Respond compassionately to victims and survivors of abuse.
• Train, advise and build confidence in others in an accessible way.
• Support senior leaders regarding the development of good safeguarding practice and healthy safeguarding cultures.
