Job summary

Highlands School is seeking a safeguarding and inclusion officer to support all looked after children, ensure good attendance and arrange the required support. The role includes direct pupil support, mentoring, liaising with external agencies and managing referrals, as well as monitoring CPOMS logs and triaging new cases.

The safeguarding and inclusion officer will line manage the welfare officer who runs the medical room, and may carry out home visits.

Qualifications

• Experience in safeguarding and child protection
• Experience liaising with external agencies
• Familiar with CPOMS monitoring system

Responsibilities

• Monitor all child protection logs on CPOMS, triage new cases and oversee statutory processes for looked after children
• Directly support looked after children, mentor students and manage referrals
• Line manage welfare officer who runs the medical room and carry out home visits as required
