Job summary

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Blackpool is recruiting a Band 5 safeguarding practitioner for the Safeguarding Children’s Team. The role is permanent and part-time (22.5 hours per week), with a pro rata salary range of £32,073 to £39,043 per year.

The post requires an NMC registration, a teaching/training qualification or experience, and a UK driving licence. The team works across multiple agencies to safeguard children and vulnerable groups within the NHS.

Qualifications

• Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC).
• Teaching/training qualification or equivalent experience.
• Proof of a UK driving licence.
• Experience in MDT and multi‑agency collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for children, young people and families and ensure safeguarding compliance.
• Contribute to statutory safeguarding obligations and health service policies.
• Support safeguarding processes and participate in audits.
• Collaborate with external agencies to promote child protection.
• Provide education and health‑promotion activities within the team.
