Job summary

Millwood School in Greater Manchester is seeking a Safeguarding and Attendance Lead for 37 hours per week, term time only (plus 10 days to be worked during school closures). The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for safeguarding, champion for pupils with additional needs, and work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to drive inclusion and high standards across the school.

The role requires excellent interpersonal skills, strong reporting to governors and authorities,

Job description

Safeguarding and Attendance Lead

37 hours per week – Term time only (plus 10 days to be worked in periods of school closure)

Millwood is an exceptional primary special school. Governors are seeking to appoint a committed, dynamic, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to take on this important role

The successful candidate will:

  • Be the first point of contact with regards to all safeguarding matters in the school.
  • Be a champion for children with additional needs.
  • Be able to form and maintain excellent working relationships with parents and carers, staff and pupils.
  • Be dedicated to inclusion.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate aspirations for great outcomes for our children and their families by championing their rights.
  • Value a teamwork approach and can demonstrate the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Have consistently high standards and expectations in all areas of school life and will be committed to a teamwork approach.
  • Work in close partnership with the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Be able to report effectively to different audiences including governors, senior leaders, local authority and parents/ carers.
