Job summary

PHINIA Delphi UK Ltd - (UK) seeks an experienced Production Planner to ensure on-time shipments by scheduling and controlling production, while optimizing inventory accuracy.

You will develop and maintain the 16-week manufacturing build plan, coordinate S&OP meetings across functions, and manage ERP/MRP parameters to support new launches and demand variations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Experience with production planning and ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong understanding of S&OP processes and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate production within the product line to meet MPS targets and drive efficiency.
• Lead best-practice production management to optimize uptime and throughput.
• Identify and mitigate short-term production risks to minimize impact on the line.
• Maintain and update ERP customer demand and SAP scheduling agreements.

Job description

Job Purpose

Responsible for ensuring the site meets customer requirements (volumes, delivery paperwork, required PCL assessments, labeling), by scheduling and controlling production correctly to achieve on-time shipments (right time, right part, right quantity), while optimizing inventory and improving inventory accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate production within the product line to achieve MPS targets, leveraging the product line structure to drive efficiency.
• Lead best‑practice production management of value‑stream bottlenecks to optimize uptime and efficiency.
• Proactively identify and mitigate short‑term production risks to minimize impact on the product line.

Customer Order Management Activities

• Ensure ERP customer demand is up to date and correct.
• Correct customer SAP scheduling agreements.
• Maintain customer orders in the ERP system for accuracy.
• Update releases for non‑EDI customers and monitor, reconcile, and correct EDI errors.
• Manage customer variations and escalate to management if sudden changes occur.
• Support and coordinate cut‑off activities for new launches.
• Check weekly for changes in customer manuals and portals.

Master Production Planning Activities

• Review customer variations, assess inventory levels, and build plans.
• Coordinate S&OP meeting preparation and organize the meeting with all functions (OPS, ME, IE, PC, SC, PM, Sales, HR, etc.).
• Develop, maintain, and communicate a rolling 16‑week manufacturing build plan.
• Load plan in ERP before the MPR run day.
• Coordinate weekly/daily build‑plan reviews with manufacturing.
• React to customer demand variations and propose or agree dispatch plans.
• Maintain MRP parameters for manufactured parts and FG.

Production Scheduling & Inventory Management

• Develop, maintain, and communicate the production schedule.
• Daily update of visual production instruction tools.
• Check supermarket levels and schedule production to maximize output.
• Monitor and manage finished goods inventory levels and accuracy.
• Ensure backflush in ERP and monitor inventory discrepancies.
• Escalate unusual discrepancies for appropriate action.
• Monitor blocked stock and negative inventory, ensuring action items are identified and applied.

Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

• Measure schedule attainment (volume and mix) and coordinate reviews with manufacturing.
• Monitor visual production instruction tools throughout the day.
• React to abnormal situations to prevent shipment impact.
• Monitor capacity versus demand short and long term, capturing action plans for gap closure.
• Support new launches by ensuring clear production planning cut‑off activity based on available inventory and inputs from advanced PCL and other departments.
• Escalate any customer quality concern immediately upon identification.
