Chattyvets in Surrey is recruiting a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) for a full-time, permanent position in Dorking. The RVN will support surgeons, provide nurse-led consultations and deliver high-quality nursing care in a well-equipped small animal practice.

RCVS registration is essential, with a salary up to £35,000 per annum depending on experience. The role offers excellent development opportunities and a supportive team environment, located a short walk from local amenities and transport

Qualifications

• RCVS registration and valid licence to practise.
• Experience in a small animal veterinary practice.
• Strong nursing and patient care skills.
• Experience supporting nurse consultations.
• Confidence working within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and client care abilities.
• Commitment to professional development and mentoring colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Supporting Veterinary Surgeons with surgeries and procedures.
• Completing pre- and post-operative patient care.
• Running nurse-led consultations.
• Carrying out Schedule 3 procedures where appropriate.
• Monitoring patients and providing high-quality nursing care.
• Managing patient admissions and discharges.
• Dispensing and checking medication.
• Supporting patient transfers to out-of-hours or enhanced care services.
• Maintaining high clinical and regulatory standards.
• Helping coordinate the day-to-day running of the practice.
• Supporting and mentoring colleagues.
