Job summary

Inspiring vet care is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join McMurtry & Harding Veterinary Practice in Ashbourne on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract. Based at Ashbourne, you’ll support patients throughout their clinical journey, working with veterinary surgeons and the wider team across two branches.

You’ll deliver high standards of nursing care, assist with surgical procedures, and run nurse consultations.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS.
• Experience in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively.
• A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload.
• Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing.
• Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery.
• Run nurse consultations and contribute to preventative healthcare and client education.
