Job summary

McMurtry & Harding Veterinary Practice in Ashbourne is seeking a motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our busy, supportive first opinion practice on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract. Based primarily at Ashbourne, you will work with veterinary surgeons across two branches to support patient care and client services.

You will deliver nursing care across a varied caseload, assist in theatre and anaesthesia, run nurse consultations and help promote preventative care and wellbeing

Qualifications

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS registration.
  • Experience in a clinical veterinary setting with medical and surgical nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload.
  • Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing.
  • Provide inpatient care and support patient recovery.
  • Run nurse consultations and contribute to preventative healthcare and client education.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at McMurtry & Harding Veterinary Practice in Ashbourne on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract.

McMurtry & Harding Veterinary Practice is a supportive first opinion practice, where our team is committed to delivering high standards of patient and client care. This is a great opportunity for an RVN who enjoys variety, teamwork and being part of the day-to-day running of a busy clinical environment.

Based primarily at our Ashbourne branch, you’ll work closely with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team to support patients throughout their clinical journey. This role will also involve working at our Wirksworth branch, offering variety across two supportive practice settings.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern
  • 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30am-7pm
  • Saturday shifts included within weekly hours
  • Late finishes included within weekly hours
  • No OOH
General Responsibilities
  • Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload
  • Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
  • Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery
