As a Remote Interpreter, your responsibilities include facilitating communication between clients and individuals with limited English proficiency. You will work remotely, providing interpreting services over the phone or via video calls. You should interpret conversations accurately and efficiently, supporting a variety of professional settings.

Please note this is a self-employed position.

The Job

• Interpreting between English and your native language over the phone or video.
• Providing interpretation services to clients with limited English proficiency.
• Interpreting for legal, health, and local government services.
• Checking understanding after each sentence.
• Providing conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting.
• Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to the Code of Conduct.

About You

• Fluent in English and another language.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.
• Be aged 21 or over.
• Hold relevant qualifications such as:
• Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
• Community Interpreting
• NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registration (advantageous)
• Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
• Other interpreting-related qualifications
