Job summary

NHS Highland in Thurso is recruiting a Band 5 Community Nurse to join our rural team in West Caithness. You will deliver high-quality, person-centred care in patients’ homes and local community settings, with opportunities to develop a broad range of community nursing skills including assessment, care planning, wound management, palliative care and MDT collaboration.

The role requires a registered nurse, driving licence and access to a vehicle due to the rural locality.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with current practising certificate.
• Experience in community nursing or willingness to develop.
• Driving licence and access to a vehicle essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred care to patients in their homes and community settings.
• Carry out assessments and care planning.
• Wound management and long-term condition support.
• Palliative and end-of-life care; work with multidisciplinary teams.
