Job summary

SRT Marine Systems plc in Bristol designs and delivers mobile surveillance towers for marine and border environments. You will own the full system design and integration from concept to prototype through production, focusing on rugged, field-ready hardware and sensor interfaces.

The role requires hands-on mechanical/electromechanical design, CAD, and testing across disciplines in a fast-paced, international environment with travel to facilities and customers.

Qualifications

• Extensive professional experience designing mechanical or electromechanical systems.
• Experience delivering ruggedised hardware from concept through production.
• System integration, mechanical design, electrical design, environmental loading, and system testing.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools.
• Ability to produce high-quality engineering drawings.
• Experience planning and executing testing and validation activities.
• Comfortable working across multiple engineering disciplines in fast-paced development environments.

Responsibilities

• Own ruggedised mobile surveillance tower hardware design from concept through prototype, qualification and production release.
• Translate requirements into robust, manufacturable products.
• Design structural, mechanical and electromechanical installations for sensors and interfaces.
• Lead design reviews and define verification & environmental test plans.
• Design for operation in harsh environments with wind loading, corrosion and thermal effects.
• Build and evaluate prototypes of complex mechanical systems.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to transition concepts into production.
• Investigate failures and implement corrective actions.
• Support internal testing, customer trials, and deployments.
