The Rugby factory Leader is responsible for running Rugby Factory in the frame of Safety, Quality, Lead Time and Cost and in accordance with the Arabelle Solutions values (Expertise, Team, Ownership). Developing the team and demonstrating accountability for operational, functional, business and company objectives, managing complex technical issues and multiple cross-functional stakeholders. Rugby Factory is a leading manufacturing unit delivering new rotating equipment (generators and steam turbines) as well servicing equipment in operations (repairs and refurbishment) for nuclear civil power generation as well as for naval applications.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Safety
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety.
    • Lead by example by performing Gemba, Hazard Hunts, promoting reporting on safety concerns and their rate of closures
    • Get feedback from incidents, accidents happening on site or other manufacturing units within EDF group and implement lessons learned
  • Quality
    • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across all departments
    • Ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the QMS
    • Monitor product quality metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement
    • Oversee root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for quality issues
  • Operational Management
    • Oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed
    • Develop and implement strategies to increase productivity and efficiency while maintaining quality standards
    • Prepare and manage budget, Medium-Term Plan, analyze production costs, and implement cost-saving measures
    • Monitor production output and adjust processes as needed to meet targets
    • Coordinate maintenance and repairs of machinery and equipment to minimize downtime
    • Collaborate with other departments such as logistics, procurement, and quality assurance
    • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on production, quality, and performance metrics
    • Provide effective leadership to enhance cost effectiveness and create a diverse, highly functioning team, communicate openly across the Service Centre and enable union relations
    • Ability to work in a matrix organization (EHS, Quality, Sourcing, Engineering, …) and drive successful completion
  • People
    • Manage factory staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Coach and develop employees to support their performance and growth
    • Drive effective communication of key customer, business priorities and successes to employees
    • Maintain positive and constructive employee relations
    • Ensure an open reporting culture from the grassroots level upwards
    • Ability to communicate / share vision / engage teams in a context of transformation & growth
    • Actively work to embed the Arabelle Solutions Cultural Pillars within the organisation and create a culture of positive engagement within the team
    • Responsible for fostering a positive industrial relations climate by engaging constructively with employee representatives
  • Customer relationship
    • Proactively manage customer relationships to remain current with their required outcomes
    • Drive opportunities for operational growth with existing and new customers
    • Act as the main Service Centre interface with Customers regarding work in progress, service offerings, and other service-related activities
  • Local Leadership
    • Part of the Arabelle Solutions local management team
    • Part of UK leadership Team
    • Part of the Rugby Site Management team

Required Qualifications and Characteristics:

  • Proven experience managing in a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Adept at implementing lean methodologies into non serial production work space
  • Likely to have a proven track record in the power industry or transferable skills acquired within a parallel heavy industry
  • Able to implement cultural change and embed employee driven ways of working
  • Strong communicator at all level of the business and able to balance the competing needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Leads by example and act as a coach to enrich the management team

Security Clearance Requirement: This role requires the successful candidate to hold Security Check (SC) clearance. If you do not currently possess SC clearance, Arabelle Solutions will support your application. Due to the sensitive nature of our work, applicants must be UK nationals. Dual nationals from non-ITAR-restricted countries may also be considered.
