Job summary

Network Rail is recruiting for a Facilities Manager to provide day-to-day facilities and soft services management for Route accommodation. You will interface with internal teams and external contractors to ensure reliable and cost-effective services nationwide.

The role requires oversight of the workplace environment, adherence to health and safety policies, and strong stakeholder engagement across senior levels.

Qualifications

  • Holders of NEBOSH or relevant health and safety qualifications.
  • Proven experience in facilities management.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Safe behaviour is a requirement of working for Network Rail.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of the total facilities management contract.
  • Maintain and enhance facilities services strategy for workplace locations nationally.
  • Oversee maintenance of workplace environment and facilities in compliance with health & safety policies.
  • Advise on expenditure for maintenance and renewal to align with budgets and strategy.
  • Develop and maintain relationships across the wider business and with customer to manage the facilities management contractor.
  • Maintain and update database information for each building with issues, costs and business cases.
  • Assess and recommend repairs and improvements considering costs, values and lease obligations.

About the role
Overview

To provide day to day facilities and soft services management for all Route accommodation supporting the Route Property & Facilities Manager. Interfaces with Network Rail teams and local Facilities Management contractors to maintain agreed levels of delivery.

Location can be Bristol, Swindon, Cardiff or London.
Your Main Responsibilities will be to
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the total facilities management contract currently in place and help in maintaining and enhancing the facilities services strategy for workplace locations nationally so that reliable, cost effective and welcoming services are provided in accordance with industry best practice.
  • Work with colleagues to maintain and enhance the total facilities management contract with specific reference to end-user customer experience and financial performance.
  • Oversee the management of the maintenance of workplace environment and facilities in compliance with corporate and statutory health and safety policies, Diversity and Inclusion strategies regulations and procedures, through rigorous contract management and the use of external auditing services.
  • Advise on expenditure with respect to maintenance and renewal of the workplace environment and facilities, assisting in keeping expenditure in line with budget provision and consistent with the agreed strategy for the estate.
  • Proactively develop and maintain relationships across the wider business, with particular focus on the sharing of knowledge and best practice with the strategic sourcing teams and developing relationships at a senior level with the customer to aid management of the facilities management contractor.
  • Maintain and update full database information for each building on existing and anticipated issues, with proposals, projected cost and income and business case as appropriate.
  • Assess and recommend repairs, renewals and improvement works having regard to costs and values and lease obligations in order to optimise portfolios.
Pay and Rewards
Salary:

£35,582 to £43,400 per annum.
