Job summary

East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) in Ipswich is seeking a Band 5 Rotational Physiotherapist for a fixed-term contract at Ipswich Hospital. The role covers rotations across medical wards, older people services, surgical wards, critical care, orthopaedics, stroke, paediatrics, MSK outpatients, community hospitals and rehab services.

The successful candidate will be supported by senior staff and Physiotherapy Leads, with access to In-Service training and a Preceptorship

Would you like to work in a large Integrated Therapy Division within the beautiful countryside of Suffolk?

We have an exciting opportunity for a B5 Rotational Physiotherapist on a fixed term contract at Ipswich Hospital.

• Paediatrics
• MSK outpatients
• Community Hospitals
• Community rehab Services

Our therapy teams are well established and enthusiastic about delivering high quality services. We have regular In-Service training sessions, clinical supervision and opportunities to get involved with Quality Improvement projects. We run a Preceptorship Programme for all newly qualified Band 5 therapists. You will be fully supported by senior staff and the Physiotherapy Professional Leads.

Interviews planned for 5th October 2026.

To assess, treat and discharge patients. This will require excellent clinical skills, good time management and effective communication with patients and carers to maximise rehabilitation potential and to ensure understanding of the condition. Communication skills of persuasion, motivation, explanation, and gaining consent will be used with a wide variety of patients. Barriers to effective communication will regularly be evident e.g. loss of hearing, altered perception, expressive and receptive dysphasia, pain, and/or fear. Many patients will lack the capacity to consent to treatment.
