Are you a trainee pharmacist looking to register as a pharmacist with the GPhC in the Summer 2025? Are you striving to improve patient care and experience, whilst looking to expand and improve your knowledge within Hospital Pharmacy? We have an exciting opportunity to join our small and friendly established team of Pharmacists at North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple in a post that offers structured progression from a Band 6 to Band 7 position within an 18 - 24 month period. As this is a development role, there will be plenty of learning opportunities in a top-ranked NHS Trust and teaching hospital that provides a full range of acute hospital services to the people of Devon.

As a Pharmacist at North Devon District Hospital, you will be playing a crucial role in delivering a high-quality Clinical Pharmacy service across a diverse range of wards. The role offers exposure to various specialties, enabling you to develop your core knowledge and skills, as well as the opportunity to be supported in your professional development, whether that's your clinical diploma or independent prescribing course. We have clearly mapped pathways to broaden your experience and help you progress.
Newly Qualified Pharmacists will begin at a Band 6 level which will provide you with a solid foundation in all the essential areas of Hospital Pharmacy. We will support you to gain funding for a clinical diploma and on completion of well-defined developmental gateways, you will progress to a Band 7 pharmacist.

This post will attract a Recruitment and Retention Premium totalling £2,000 (pro-rata for part time employees) plus an on-call premium of approximately £2,400 (both subject to eligibility), these will be paid in instalments over a 12-month period.
