Job summary

Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Rotational Pharmacist to join our established team. The role offers a structured progression from Band 6 to Band 7 within an 18–24 month period, with foundation rotations across surgery, cardiology, respiratory, and other specialties.

Newly qualified pharmacists start at Band 6 and receive support to gain a clinical diploma, progress through a defined portfolio, and move to Band 7 on completion of gateways and evidence submission.

Qualifications

• GPhC registration or eligibility to practice
• Masters of Pharmacy or equivalent
• Willingness to undertake further training
• Member of RPS
• Postgraduate clinical certificate or equivalent
• Experience in NHS hospital medicines supply

Responsibilities

• Medicines Information and patient helpline rotation
• Responsible Pharmacist duties within the dispensary
• Embarking on further training to support progression (clinical diploma, independent prescribing)
• Maintaining a personal portfolio of evidence
• Following the band 6-7 transitional programme and completing relevant tasks
